I trust that the February issue of Carrie’s Good News finds you dreaming of longer days, the warm sun on your skin and perhaps even the feel of sand between your toes. Unfortunately there are still several cold months ahead of us and barefoot days and cookouts are still just a glimpse on the horizon.

For those of you who want to start your vacation days a bit sooner, Maryland Deck and Hot Tubs has just the thing for you! A brand new deck and hot tub could be just the thing to soak away your winter blues.

Dave Finneran started his business over twenty years ago. At first he built only decks, sunrooms, etc. but after so many clients requested information on hot tubs, he added them as well. Dave did his research and chose the brand of hot tubs he uses because of the company's strong reputation to stand behind their product.   Not only are hot tubs fun, but they can be used for some medical conditions as well.

Dave and his team take care of every step involved when it comes to the deck and hot tub process. They supply all of the drawings, design work, permits, material and labor to get the work done. Dave says, “My company is unique in the way that customers can actually be more involved in their project because they can just talk to my guys because they aren’t in a hurry, and if the customer wants to move a staircase or gate you can just talk to them and get it done. My guys are all on the same page and are there to make the customer happy, not just to make the money and get out.”

When asked if he had any advice for homeowners considering the purchase of a hot tub, spa or deck, he had several things to offer. Dave suggests doing a little bit of research on the different products that are available now. “Technology is changing constantly in decks.  It used to be just a wooden deck and wooden rail. Now the technology is so much farther than that. Soap and water clean up is a big issue because people don’t want to spend a lot of time staining and maintaining their decks.” The internet is now a great source for finding out about the products offered. Dave also suggests wet testing the tubs which you can do right in his showroom.

I was under the impression that maintenance on a spa would take a lot of time. It’s actually just the opposite. You only have to change the water twice a year and clean the filters once a month. Total upkeep only takes about five minutes a month. MD Deck and Hot Tubs also supplies the chemicals, cover and steps. Everything you need to get started! They also service existing tubs and spas if you already have one, and you can purchase chemicals and accessories right on the web. You can access all of this information and more on their website at www.deckandhottubs.com or visit them in their Westminster, MD showroom at 1802 Baltimore Blvd. Monday thru Friday 9-6 Saturdays 10-4 or anytime by appointment. You can reach Dave at 410-374-8008 or e-mail him at MDHStore@aol.com.

Be sure to tell him that Carrie sent you!
